TEAMS SELECTION
12 players (or a number divisible by 3) are required for this tournament to work correctly. Once
registration is over the players will be split into 3 groups of 4
members determined by their win ratio on the hwhearts ladder.
The top 4 or 5 players will become Team Captains and each choose one player
from the middle group and one from the bottom group to make up their
team.
MATCH TIMES
Matches will be held at 11am and 2pm ET weekdays, please
state when registering if certain times are not suitable for you. I will
try to schedule matches at your suitable times.
NEW PLAYERS
You will be required to take part in one standard
hwhearts tournament before registration closes to ensure your
ladder account is set up correctly, any hwhearts tournament will
suffice and your finishing position is immaterial.
NO SHOWS
If a player fails to arrive for a match, the team captain must
select a bot to replace the missing player. Late players may take
part in the next round.
TEAM CAPTAINS
The biggest responsibility may arise in the Final
where the number of games per match is doubled to 18. In the
event of a tied match, the Team Captains will play a single play-off
game to decide the winner!
MATCH FORMAT
For clarity, a single 1 vs 1 hearts game will be referred to as a
game or games.
A team match involving several individual games will be referred to as a
match or matches.
The final league stages will be played one match at a time, for example the 3 players
that represent UK will individually play the 3 players from USA simultaneously, in
1 vs 1 format games with 2 robot players making up the foursomes. Each player
from each team will play each opponent from the opposing team making a
total of 3 games for each player and 9 games in total.
Example fixtures list:-
Round 1
Player 1 (Team A) v Player 3 (Team B)
Player 2 (Team A) v Player 1 (Team B)
Player 3 (Team A) v Player 2 (Team B)
Round 2

The winners
of these games determine the match winners there are a maximum of 9 game
wins possible for each team, so the team that wins 5 or more games will
win the match and a match win will be credited to the team. All games
are to be played even if one team reaches a match winning 5 game wins
before the match is over. Game wins are credited to your teams score and
are used in the event of a tied league position.
Each team will play all other teams twice, once "home"
and once "away". This is subject to change if more than 5
teams are formed.
THE FINAL
The top two teams will play each other in a best of 19 games final to
